It's Christmas Eve, and the mall is alive with last minute shopper, holiday chaos, and unexpected connections. WHAT'S THE PLAY ABOUT?
One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall follows eight intertwined stories in a Midwestern mall on the last day of shopping before the holiday. A diverse case of characters – from a lovesick mall Santa to an overeager mall cop, from a pair of brainy misfit teenagers to a pair of battling actors in a production of A Christmas Carol, from a petulant college freshman to a newlywed couple – navigate first meetings, second chances and last-minute choices. One Christmas Eve wraps the joys and sorrows of the season into one festive package.

Our production of One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall will be directed by Sean Holliday.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
TCTC seeks male and female actors of all ethnicities, ages 18 to 60+ for this production.
WHAT ROLES ARE AVAILABLE?
BELL RINGER (Either, Any age) - charity worker
DARLA (Female, 40s) - chief of security at the Evergreen Mall
ROBERT (Male, 20s-30s) - assistant manager, the boss’s son
LACEY (Female, 20s) - eager to please, new employee
TODD (Male, Late teens) - a nerdy high school student
JENNY (Female, Late teens) a nerdy high school student, Darla’s daughter
STEPHEN (Male, 30s) - a highly strung actor from the local community theater
ERIN (Female, 30s) - an actress, new to the local community theater
ANDY (Male, 20s) - a security guard in the mall
TAYLOR (Female, 30s) - in PR
RJ (Male, 30s) - in real estate
TERRY (Either, late teens-20s) - somewhere on the spectrum
SHARON (Female, 30s-40s) - chip on her shoulder
ABBIE (Female, late teens) - a college freshman, home for the holidays
JOEELLEN (Female, 40s) - her mother
ROBIN (Either, Any age) a shop assistant
MOLLIE (Female, 30s) - colorful and a little bohemian, newly married to Matthew
FELICIA (Female 30s-40s) - manager of the clothing boutique Club Paris
LINDA (Female, 20s-30s) - a last-minute shopper
GERALD (Male, 20s-40s) plays Santa at the mall
ELLIE (Female 20s-30s) plays an elf in Santa’s Workshop
WHERE WILL AUDITIONS BE HELD?
All auditions and rehearsals will be in person at the Tyler Civic Theatre, 400 Rose Park Drive
WHAT SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION?
Auditions for One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall will be held by “cold reading,” so there’s nothing to prepare, but familiarity with the show can be helpful.
WHEN WILL REHEARSALS BE HELD?
Rehearsals will begin Monday, October 26th and will generally run Monday-Friday 6:00-9 PM. Adjustments may be made according to the needs of the cast.
WHAT DATES WILL THE SHOW RUN?
Production dates are December 4-6 and 10-13, 2026.
